Weird oddity about our Moon... Why do we always see the one side?

I find it highly unusual that that our Moon rotates around the Earth, while at the same time, rotates around the sun, yet to our perspective, it doesn't spin at all. Of course, the Moon does spin, but exactly in such a way that we never see the other side. Here's another interesting fact: The Moon has been moving away from Earth for millions of years, so it simply isn't logical that the same side would face us for the past several thousand years... Right?
